We at TGD have heard nothing but good things about the movie Gravity, and from what we know so far, it could be the next big science fiction classic. There’s already Oscar talk for Sandra Bullock, but we’d really love to know what astronaut Buzz Aldrin thinks of the film.
Aldrin did a guest review of Gravity for the Hollywood Reporter, and being that the guy has been up in space for real, he can vouch for the movie’s accuracy. So what did he think of Gravity? Well, he told the Reporter he found the film “remarkable.”
Aldrin said, “I was so extravagantly impressed by the portrayal o the reality of zero gravity. Going through the space station was done just the way that I’ve seen people do it in reality…The precision was remarkable.”
Aldrin also hopes the film will inspire more space travel. “We’re in a very precarious position of losing all the advancements we’ve made in space that we did 40, 50 years ago. From my perspective, this movie couldn’t have come at a better time to really stimulate the public.”
Well, if it’s good enough for Buzz, we’re willing to bet that the public will really love Gravity when it opens this weekend.
