When it was reported that Jurassic Park 4 was getting shut down right before it was supposed to start shooting, it certainly wasn’t a good sign. As much as TGD is tired of sequels and reboots, we actually wouldn’t mind seeing what could be done with Jurassic Park today.
Now the Hollywood Reporter tells us the J Park sequel is indeed back on track, and it will be called Jurassic World. It will also be released on June 12, 2015, which adds another big blockbuster to the summer of ’15. Avengers 2 is slated for May 1, Batman Vs Superman May 17, and Star Wars could also be out around this time, probably Memorial Day. (There’s net speculation Star Wars could also come out for Christmas.)
Jurassic World will be directed by Colin Trevorrow, helmer of the acclaimed indie flick Safety Not Guaranteed. Jurassic World will also be shot in, big surprise, 3D. As much as we’re sick and tired of 3D, we would like to see the big, bad dinos in three dimensions again, except this time the movie will be designed that way from the get-go instead of being transferred into the format twenty years later.
