Wacom has refreshed its Cintiq interactive pen display lineup with the slick Cintiq 13HD.
The device – which boasts a 13-inch HD resolution screen – also includes an adjustable stand and uses an improved Pro Pen for optimized digital workflow. Wacom says the new Pro Pen feels just like drawing or painting with traditional media.
The pen display offers users a compact and slim design that will work for Mac and Windows computers. The screen can be positioned at multiple angles and is optimized for use with four different settings. The settings include flat, 22-degrees, 35-degrees, and 50-degrees. The HD resolution display suports a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 with 178-degree viewing angles.
The contrast ratio for the screen is 700:1, with a brightness rating of 250 cd/m2. The display supports 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity and has integrated tilt recognition. The pen is cordless and needs no batteries to operate. The 13HD also features four customizable and application-specific ExpressKeys for binding frequently used shortcut commands.
The nib for the Pro 10 is interchangeable, along with color ring under the nib, making it easy to distinguish between multiple pens. The display only requires a USB connection to your computer for power and connectivity. The screen also has an HDMI input and the pen ships with five standard nibs, three felt nibs, and one stroke nib.
The Cintiq 13HD will be available in early April for a cool $1,000.
