E Fun has debuted a lineup of Android tablets dubbed the Google Play series. Powered by Jelly Bean (4.1), the tablets feature full access to Google Play, 1.5GHz dual-core processors and an HD (1024 x 600) display.
Additional (base) specs include 1GB DDR3 RAM, front and back cameras, an HDMI-out port, 8GB internal memory, microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 32GB, 2.0 USB slot, G-Sensor, microphone, B/G/N Wi-Fi connection, and a built-in Lithium-Ion battery.
As expected, the tablet lineup offers tight integration with a number of Google services and platforms, including Play, Music, Gmail, Chrome, Google Talk, Google+, Maps and YouTube.
Fun’s initial unit, the Nextbook 7GP, boasts a screen size of 7″ and will be on display this month at CES 2013. The 7GP is slated to go on sale this February at a $130 price point.
What is most interesting about E Fun’s tablet lineup is that it brings the magical $99 price point ever closer for Android tablets.
The specs are certainly respectable enough, and should definitely appeal to those who are looking for a more cost effective Kindle Fire alternative that allows full access to Google Play.
