iPad owners have had access since August, and now Amazon’s Instant Video app has gone live for Apple’s iPhone and iPod touch.
To watch movies or TV episodes from Amazon Instant Video on iPhone and iPod touch, users can simply search for the content they’ve already rented or purchased from Amazon Instant Video – including popular movies like The Dark Knight Rises, Brave and The Amazing Spiderman and the latest episodes from TV series like The Walking Dead, Sons of Anarchy and The Vampire Diaries.
The app also makes more than 30,000 titles from Prime Instant Video available to Prime members such as hit TV shows like American Horror Story, Downton Abbey and Fringe, as well as popular movies such as Hugo, Thor and Goodfellas.
Key features offered in Amazon’s app for the iPhone and iPod touch include a detailed watchlist that allows users to make a list of all the movies and TV episodes they want to watch in the future, regardless of whether they own the video or not, making it easy to keep track of specific videos for subsequent viewing. Meanwhile, “Your Video Library” offers iPhone and iPod touch owners access to purchases and rentals from Amazon Instant Video on the web.
In related Amazon news, the Seattle-based company also announced a Cloud Player application for Samsung Smart TVs that offers Cloud Player users access to their entire music library in the cloud. The app, which can be found in the Samsung Smart Hub, also supports easy browsing, searching and music playback.
Amazon Cloud Player is currently available for the Mac, PC, Kindle Fire, Sonos Music Players, Android mobile devices, iPhone, iPod Touch and Roku.
