The iPhone 5 is now available for a variety of smaller regional carriers.
If for whatever reason you prefer a company like Cellcom over the major names like Sprint and Verizon, you didn’t have to wait long for the newest iPhone to make its way to your service provider.
Cellcom, nTelos, Appalachian Wireless, C Spire, GCI, and Cricket Communications are all now offering the iPhone 5. The first three of those are even willing to take a hit on the sale of the device in order to lure you in as a customer – they are selling the device at just $149 for those who sign up with a two-year contract.
Meanwhile, Cricket, a pre-paid carrier that does not deal with contracts, is selling the phone for $500 with no strings attached.
The phone is truly just an incremental upgrade over the iPhone 4S. The lack of any sort of disruptive technology additions like NFC shows that this is mainly just an iPhone 4S with a bigger screen and LTE capabilities – both of which are features that other competitors have had for a while – and not much else.
Nevertheless, Apple fanatics lines up outside stores for hours or even days to get their hands on it.
As always happens when a new iPhone is released, the iPhone 5 has been sold out at virtually every store throughout the country. So grabbing one from a regional carrier may be the only option for customers at this time.
