One of the primary reasons many consumers shy away form electric vehicles is range anxiety, or the fear of a car battery running out of juice while still on the road.
So one can only imagine how range anxiety increases exponentially when flying in an electric aircraft.
Nevertheless, a company known as Flight of the Century and its CEO Chip Yates recently broke the world record for speed in an electric aircraft with a Long-ESA EV flight that reached a top speed of 202.6 mph.
Unfortunately, the battery packs were damaged in the process, leaving the pilot miles away from the airport with no power and no ability to climb.
Yet, as you can see in the video above, he somehow managed to glide the aircraft back to the runway for a rather rough landing.
