Toshiba is showcasing its new Ultrabook lineup at Computex 2012 in Taiwan.
First up is the 3.5 lbs Satellite U845W, which the company claims is the world’s first Ultrabook boasting a 14.4-inch diagonal ultrawide-HD TruBrite display with a cinematic 21:9 aspect ratio and 1792 x 768 resolution.
The U845W – which measures 0.82 inches thin – also features harman/kardon stereo speakers, SRS Premium Sound 3D, a third-gen Intel Core processor, 500GB HD, 32GB/256GB SSD, one HDMI port, LED backlit raised tile keyboard, Ethernet port and memory card slot.
A Toshiba spokesperson told TG Daily that the $1,000 U845W is targeted at movie enthusiasts and productivity power users.
“This display is ideally suited for movie buffs looking to enjoy 2.35:1 movies in their original format – without black bars commonly seen on most laptop displays,” said the spokesperson. ”The distinctive display is also ideal for multitasking, providing more space for better split-screen viewing of Office apps, streaming video, social networking, browsing and IM.”
Next up is the Satellite U845, which is priced at a cool $750, stands at under an inch thin and weighs four pounds. The U845 is loaded with a 500GB hard drive with Flash Memory technology, stereo speakers (SRS 3D), an HD webcam and optional LED backlit keyboard. Additional specs include a third-gen Intel Core processor, up to 6GB DDR3 memory, one USB 3.0 port with USB Sleep & Charge, two USB 2.0 ports, one HDMI port, Ethernet port and Memory card slot.
Last, but certainly not least, the $900 Portégé Z935 is now available with Intel’s third-gen Core i3, i5 and i7 processors. Dubbed “the world’s lightest 13.3-inch Ultrabook, the Z935 boasts a slim 0.63-inch (15.9 mm) profile, weighs less than 2.5 pounds and offers 8 hours of battery life.
