Paramount and Hasbro have released two new trailers for their upcoming action/adventure special effects flick.
As you probably already know, Retaliation is the sequel to the 2009 hit Rise of Cobra. With Dwayne Johnson and Bruce Willis among the good guys this time around, we’re actually looking at more star power than the first film, which, I obviously don’t have to tell you, is kind of odd.
Both of these trailers give us a better look at some of the effects of the film as well as some details about the plot, which follows from the conclusion of the previous film, in which one of Cobras operatives infiltrated the office of the President of The United States.
Along with these trailers, we finally have an official synopsis:
In Retaliation, the G.I. Joes are not only fighting their mortal enemy Cobra; they are forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardize their very existence. The film stars D.J. Cotrona, Byung-hun Lee, Adrianne Palicki, Ray Park, Jonathan Pryce, Ray Stevenson, Channing Tatum with Bruce Willis and Dwayne Johnson. Directed by Jon M. Chu, and produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Brian Goldner, from a screenplay by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick based on Hasbro’s G.I. Joe characters.
G.I. Joe: Retaliation hits theaters June 29, 2012.
