Mark Halperin’s Obama insult video going viral

Mark Halperin’s insult of President Obama may have gotten him suspended, but the situation makes for some good entertainment.

It all started yesterday when Halperin, Time magazine’s senior political analyst, made his true feelings towards President Obama known. He was gracious enough to do this on the live TV program Morning Joe on MSNBC.

The hosts of Morning Joe– Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski—asked Halperin what he thought about something Obama said. He replied with: “I thought he was kind of a dick.”

They are calling it a “gaffe,” but that implies that it was a mistake. You can tell from the video that Halperin didn’t misspeak; he meant to say what he said. He was under the impression that there was a seven-second delay between the recording and transmission of events in the studio.

He was wrong.

He quickly said that he was sorry, but by then it was too late. The social media community took the video viral. It was featured on Mashable and The Blaze, it was also a trending topic on Twitter.

I personally think that the best part about this whole embarrassment is the comments that people are leaving on Politico. Some Obama supporters are losing their S*** and ranting saying that Halperin’s comments are disgusting. Many are saying that Halperin is merely saying what everyone else is thinking.

As of now there are 1,850 comments on the Poltico article, and almost all of them are freaking hilarious. I don’t usually think that comments on websites are worthy of combing through for entertainment, but every once and a while you find gold. Lucky for us this is pure gold.

In the grand scheme of things, this is a non-issue. But I have to give the man some respect for speaking his mind.

Seriously though, he should have known that bashing the liberal president on a liberal news network would not end well. What a goof.
