Just when you thought the white iPhone 4 would never actually come out, Apple has confirmed its existence.
The device will go on sale tomorrow for $199 (16 GB) or $299 (32 GB), or about the same price as the current version of the iPhone 4.
The white iPhone 4 was supposed to come out a matter of weeks after the original, black version of the handset was released about one year ago. Apple pushed it back, multiple times, until it just stopped talking about it.
Then, finally, a few weeks ago the company said it was actually still working on the apparently complex process of swapping out black components for white ones, and promised to have it out by the end of spring this year.
Even after that announcement we still hadn’t seen anything official about when it would actually be released. Until now.
“The white iPhone 4 has finally arrived and it’s beautiful. We appreciate everyone who has waited patiently while we’ve worked to get every detail right,” Apple said in a statement.
Apple did not say if it would be available through AT&T, Verizon, or both. Either way, it is expected to be available on both carriers eventually, even if this launch is limited to just one.
At the same time, Apple announced the iPad 2 has increased its international presence. The tablet is coming to Japan, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Turkey this week.
