Electric car revenge film trailer debuts

The producers of the new film “Revenge of the Electric Car” (a sequel to 2006’s “Who Killed the Electric Car?”) are foregoing the traditional studio distribution model and taking it directly to the fans, via Facebook.

The trailer for the much-anticipated 2011 film has now been released, following a major milestone for the film: 10,000 Facebook fans.

Of course, this new film – slated for release early in the New Year – is not a sequel, per se, but rather the next installment in the story of electric vehicles worldwide.

This time, the movie details their renaissance and following Nissan, General Motors (GM), and Tesla Motors in “the high-stakes race to be the first to bring electric vehicles to the masses.”

The trailer introduces the four main characters in the film: Bob Lutz, former Vice Chairman at GM; Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Motors; Carlos Ghosn, CEO of Nissan; and Greg “Gadget” Abbott, an auto enthusiast who does gas/electric conversions.

The documentary follows these individuals over the course of two years as they struggle to create and bring to market the Chevy Volt, the Nissan LEAF and the Tesla Roadster and Model S.
