The veil has been lifted (leaked) on yet another Motorola Android phone, and this one brings updates to its Motoblur skin and a Blackberry-style candybar form factor.
The most distinct feature of the Motorola Charm is in the hardware design. It is a brick candy-bar style phone with a full Qwerty keyboard under the screen, a very similar layout to that used in some of the most popular Blackberry models.
Images and other product material provided to Engadget reveal that the Charm will also have a brand new version of Motoblur, a Motorola-created “skin” that changes the typical Android interface to one focused on social networking and personal communication.
With the new Motoblur, users will be able to change the size of their home screen “widgets,” the Facebook and Twitter widgets will get upgraded functionality, and there will be seven different home screens to cycle through.
The Charm will also fully support Android 2.1.
Motorola is one of the most prolific hardware supporters of Android. It officially announced the Droid X last week, and its current Droid phone is by far the best-selling Android device on the market.
