iPad stealthware spotted in the wild

A stealthware app that is reportedly capable of silently monitoring activity on jailbroken Apple iPads has been released into the wild.

The application – which was coded by Mobile Spy – allows users to clandestinely record a list of every website visited, every email sent and received, along with any contacts added to the device.

“You install the small program onto your device. It starts every time the iPad is powered on but remains completely hidden,” the company claimed in an official statement.

“All of [the] logs are then sent to your secure Mobile Spy account which you can access from any web browser. When you want to view results, simply login to the secure Control Panel from any computer or phone.”

According to Mobile Spy, the app stays “totally silent” unless the interface is activated to change program settings.

“This…allows you to see everything they do while you are away,” explained Mobile Spy.

“[So], are your kids viewing pornography while you are asleep? Are your employees sending company secrets through their personal email? You will [soon] have the answers to all these questions answered.”
