Report: MSI to launch Android and Win 7 tablets at Computex

MSI is reportedly planning to launch a number of Android and Windows 7 tablet devices at Computex in June.

According to Engadget, the tablets – which are expected to ship sometime during the third quarter – will be available in 8.9 and 10-inch varieties.

“We can’t promise you big M’s Tegra 2 and Atom-powered slates will be all that different from what we’ve been seeing from the others out there, but we are told the pricing will be ‘extremely aggressive,” wrote Engadget’s Joanna Stern.

“That’s intriguing, but unfortunately, that awesome dual-screen tablet we saw at CES is farther behind.”

Why?

Well, MSI’s Andy Tung told Engadget that “hardware implementation” was responsible for the delay, as the the Atom-based tablet was unable to provide “adequate” endurance.

“The two screens are a major drain on the battery, and even with a higher density battery and the Menlow CPU we are only getting three hours,” confirmed Tung.
