HTC isn’t going to let a court ruling stop them from being a thorn in Apple’s side. They’re used to being the object of Steve Jobs’ hatred by now.
According to the Associated Press, Taiwanese based smartphone maker HTC Corp. said it thinks it has a strong case for an appeal of a U.S. International Trade Commission decision that HTC violated two Apple Inc. patents.
In a release dated for Saturday HTC said it doesn’t have the full ruling and analysis yet to figure out the details of the findings. General Counsel Grace Lei said “We are highly confident we have a strong case for the ITC appeals process and are fully prepared to defend ourselves using all means possible.”
HTC produces the HTC Incredible and additional smartphones that use Android the operating system from Google Inc.
The argument dates back to March 2010, when Apple accused HTC of violating a few of its precious patents connected to the production of the iPhone
HTC claims the judge ruled that only two of the 10 patents in question were violated.
Apple moved 18.65 million iPhones in the first three months of this year. They are expected to report on its latest quarterly results on Tuesday after the market comes to a close. Analysts expect to see sales of around 17 million iPhones for the most recent period.
HTC reported in April that they sold 9.7 million Android phones in the first quarter.
