We talked briefly about Acer’s Iconia X700 Windows 8 tablet back in June when the tablet first surfaced on YouTube. Well, Acer has now gone official with the details and specs, including a launch date and pricing.
The tablet is slated to hit physical and virtual store shelves on on October 26 at a base price point of $800.
As expected, the Iconia X700 can be equipped with a choice of processors, including an Intel Core i3 or a Core i5 chip.
Acer says both of the above-mentioned processors will provide enough power to allow the user to use the W700 as their only PC. Indeed, the tablet boasts an 11.6-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and Intel HD 4000 integrated graphics.
The tablet ships with a multipurpose cradle that allows the screen to be adjusted to different positions for comfortable viewing or touch control. Of course, the device can also be placed in vertical mode for reading or browsing. The tablet is under half an inch thick and weighs 2.3 pounds, although the battery promises up to 8 hours of runtime per charge. Additional specs? Integrated Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, G-sensor, electronic compass and Gyro-meter.
The Iconia X700 will be available with various storage options, such as 128 GB of SSD storage or 64 GB of SSD storage. Other key features include a five-megapixel rear camera for recording video and a 720p resolution front camera for video conferencing.
The keyboard packaged with the Iconia links to the device via Bluetooth and the tablet is also equipped with a micro HDMI port for connecting to an external display. As noted above, pricing runs up to a cool $1,000 when fully optioned.
