Apple upgrades Mac Pro with 3.33GHz quad-core Xeon

Apple has bolstered its Mac Pro lineup with a new 3.33GHz quad-core Intel Xeon upgrade option.

The $1,200 processor takes its place alongside the basic 2.66GHz quad-core Xeon and the 2.93GHz iteration which carries a $400 price tag.

Apple has also announced a 2TB upgrade option for the Mac Pro at a cost of $550 – extending the system’s total HD storage capacity to 8TB. 

So, what are the current Mac Pro (base) prices? 

Quad-Core base configuration: 

  • Processor – 2.66 GHz quad-core Intel Xeon.
  • RAM – 3GB.
  • HD – 640GB.
  • Superdrive – 18x double-layer.
  • GPU – Nvidia GeForce GT 120 with 512MB.

Price – $2,500

8-Core base configuration:

  • Processor(s) – Two 2.26Ghz quad-core Intel Xeon. 
  • ?RAM – 6GB.
  • HD – 640GB.
  • Superdrive – 18X.
  • GPU – Nvidia GeForce GT 120 with 512MB.

Price – $3,300
