We’re going to be seeing a lot of Doctor Who this month. He’s hitting his 50th anniversary on November 23, with a special episode that will have a simultaneous worldwide broadcast. In some markets you’ll be able to see this episode in 3D, and for a good cause Doctor Who will also get a lot louder, thanks to Marshall amps.
As Guitar World reports, Marshall amps has made a Doctor Who Marshall Stack, that’s designed to look like, you guessed it, a Tardis. This special amp is being auctioned on eBay to benefit a charity called Children in Need.
The lucky winner of this one of a kind amp will also be invited to the Marshall factory in England to watch it being assembled. This auction is going on through Ebay in the UK, so if you’re in the States and want to bid on it, there will obviously have to be some kind of currency conversion. (The current bid as this story was being finalized is at 3,600 pounds, which is about $5,772.60 in U.S. dollars.)
So for one Doctor Who fanatic who also digs the screaming loud tone of Marshall amps, this is the perfect collector’s item, and it goes to a great cause as well. It’s certainly a nice gesture on the good Doctor’s 50th anniversary, and we wish good luck to all Who fans who are ready to throw down and bid.
