Notion Ink has officially announced the specifications for its new Adam II tablet. Now some of you are sure to recognize the company name from its original Adam tablet which hit the market just a few short years ago.
However, the new tablet is cheaper than the original and boasts a powerful processor, along with a rather interesting secondary black-and-white display.
As expected, the secondary black-and-white screen isn’t designed for dual screen use, but rather, to display notifications. The idea is that tablet owners can use the little black and white screen to access notifications without having to turn on the color screen, presumably saving battery power.
The primary color screen measures 10.1-inches, with a resolution of 1280 x 800. The resolution and size of the secondary black and white screen is unknown, but presumably it’s very small.
The processor? A 1.5 GHz dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 paired with 1GB of RAM and Android 4.2.2.
Notion Ink promises that the battery is good for 10 hours per charge and with a capacity of 6000 mAh, it should be.
The tablet also features a two-megapixel camera on the front, along with an identical rear two-megapixel camera. Additional key specs include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and HDMI out.
Early rumors suggest the tablet will sell for a cool $220, but the latest reports indicate the price is inaccurate. An official price has yet to be announced, and it remains unclear as to when the tablet will be available to purchase.
