Sony is reportedly prepping a 5-inch 1080p smartphone codenamed “Yuga.”
The handset has apparently tipped up in various benchmark results, while a Swiss-based site recently leaked a number of images and specs.
Although Sony has yet to officially comment on the rumored device, The Verge believes the phone will likely make an appearance at CES (January) or MWC (February).
Specs? Pretty tricked-out indeed, as the Yuga is apparently equipped with a 5-inch 1080p display, which would put in on par with the current HTC Droid DNA.
However, The Verge believes Sony might opt for a next-gen screen – known as WhiteMagic – which is designed by JDI which uses a white extra sub-pixel to render brighter images while ensuring longer battery life.
Additional specs are said to include “the latest” Qualcomm processor paired with two gigs of RAM. The phone is slated to run Android, perhaps 4.2, and will undoubtedly feature a camera, although the exact specs are unknown.
In the meantime, Russian mobile guru Eldar Murtazin says he has managed to obtain a Yuga prototype and is planning a review as early as tomorrow. TG Daily will keep you posted.
