Like the idea of Windows 8 tablet, but not exactly impressed by Microsoft’s Surface?
Well, you might want to check out the 4G LTE Asus VivoTab RT which will be hitting AT&T stores on November 16. The tablet is significantly cheaper than the Microsoft’s Surface RT (thanks to carrier subsidies), weighing in at $499.99 after exclusive holiday promotions, which include a free Mobile Dock with keyboard and an additional battery inside.
AT&T is also offering $100 off the tablet after the purchase of any Windows smartphone and an additional $100 off any tablet with a two-year data plan agreement.
The Asus VivoTab RT is only 0.33-inches thick and weighs 1.18 pounds. It is powered by the Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor paired with a 12-core graphics processor. The tablet promises lots of performance with Windows apps and an immersive mobile gaming experience. It measures 10.1-inches, boasts a resolution of 1366 x 768 and features a two-megapixel front camera along with an eight-megapixel rear camera capable of recording full HD resolution video.
The optional mobile dock is typically sold separately, but as noted above, is being bundled in free for a limited time. That mobile dock adds a keyboard for faster and easier typing and includes its own internal battery, extending the the runtime of the tablet to 15 hours. The dock is also equipped with a multi-touch touchpad and USB port.
