Adult film star Ron Jeremy has claimed that violent video games pose more of a danger to children than pornography.
Jeremy – who made his remarks during the “The Great Porn Debate” at CES 2010 – also took the opportunity to plug InternetSafety.com’s Safe Eyes family Internet management software, which automatically blocks access to online pornographic content.
“Porn is definitely not for kids. Take it from someone who has worked in the industry for (over 35) years,” said Jeremy.
“Internet filtering is an easy way to prevent kids from being exposed to this stuff, and I think that every parent should use a product like Safe Eyes.”
However, anti-porn pastor and XXXchurch.com founder Craig Gross insisted that pornography was little more than a “cheap and unrealistic” substitute for actual sex.
According to Gross, porn has the potential to “distort” an individual’s sexual expectations and may be responsible for marital discord later in life.
Gross also criticized the adult film industry for bringing pornography into the “mainstream” via the Internet.
“It is really hard to avoid [porn] online. And kids [typically] know more about the Internet than their parents. Of course, this has to change.”
