The June edition of Playboy magazine is scheduled to hit the stores this Friday with a naked, 3D centerfold.
“What would people most like to see in 3D? Probably a naked lady. [But] I’m not a huge enthusiast of 3D. I leave real life to go to the movies and 2D is fine with me,” Playboy founder Hugh Hefner told the Associated Press.
“[Still], this particular picture is one example of how books and magazines are different (than computer images). You can hold it in your hands, save them, and as Dad used to, put them under the mattress.”
Hefner also noted that he had first thought of including 3D images in Playboy when the magazine launched in the 1950s.
“I actually signed a photographer to shoot two nude women in 3-D in Chicago,” he said, but ended up “scrapping the idea” after realizing how costly it would be to include the glasses with the magazine.
