It hasn’t even been out for a month yet and Sony’s new Playstation Vita is already getting a second firmware update.
Version 1.51 of the Vita software assures players it will fix certain “game progress” issues, with the launch title Dynasty Warriors specifically mentioned.
Gamers had been complaining about bugs when playing Dynasty Warriors online.
This update comes just a matter of days after Sony’s first Vita update, which was supposed to patch various problems that caused system-crippling symptoms like screen freezes and complete software crashes.
Sony issued an apology and tried to assure gamers that the issues were fixable and there was no reason to be alarmed.
This is of course not the first Playstation fiasco of the year. Sony was at the mercy of millions of angry PS3 owners several months ago when hacker managed to break into the online Playstation Network infrastructure, forcing Sony to shut down all PS3 online features for more than a month (the company originally promised the issue would be resolve in about a week).
The Vita is due out in February for the US. Hopefully these kinks will be worked out before then.
