Ricky Gervais will return to host the Golden Globe Awards in 2016, taking over from Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
After successfully hosting the show three times, between 2010 and 2012, Ricky announced that he would never host the Awards again. Despite fans loving his performances, the comedians sense of humor was not always appreciated. Philip Berk, the then HFPA president, criticized Gervais’s performances and jokes, telling The Hollywood Reporter
“He definitely crossed the line” continuing “And some of the things were totally unacceptable. But that’s Ricky”
Apparently there are no hard feelings and we can look forward to a fun Golden Globe Awards 2016.
