While superhero mania may be slowing down a little, there’s still plenty of comics movies and TV shows in the works, including the long awaited Dr. Strange, which will be hitting theaters next November. Benedict Cumberbatch is onboard for the lead, but a major role left to be cast is The Ancient One.
Fans and critics alike want more diversity in their comic movies, and it may also happen with Doctor Strange because The Hollywood Reporter tells us acclaimed British actress Tilda Swinton may be playing the role.
While Swinton has done a number of great roles, she also has geek cred from starring in Snowpiercer and Constantine. Swinton could make a very interesting left of center choice for the role, and allegedly Morgan Freeman was looked at to play The Ancient One as well.
Doctor Strange is slated to start shooting this November for a November 4, 2016 release date.
