Many of us loved to shoot movies in our backyards, but how many of us remade a blockbuster shot for shot?
It’s one of those insane fanboy stories that goes even beyond fanboy insanity. You’ve probably heard the urban legend of the guys who loved Raiders so much, they remade it shot for shot on video, and as the Hollywood Reporter tells us, there’s now a documentary telling the whole story that’s premiered at the South By Southwest Festival (or SXSW for short.)
The movie is called Raiders!, and it was directed by Jeremy Coon, who produced Napoleon Dynamite.
There has already been a book about these guys that came out through St Martins, as well as a big, pimpin’ article that ran in Vanity Fair years ago, but it will be great to see an actual documentary about these guy that will detail how they put all this together. It obviously takes a lot of dedication and hard work to remake a Spielberg classic, and you gotta hand it to these guys just for their sheer determination alone.
