The Right Vacuum Cleaner for Better Dust Care

Dust often accumulates at a rapid rate in living spaces. Most must be seized several times a week to the vacuum cleaner. Especially with owners of pets, regular sucking is normal. But with which types of vacuum cleaner do you achieve the best result? Which solution is the best for allergy sufferers? How regularly does your vacuum cleaner need to be cleaned, and what features do you need to pay attention to when buying it? All these questions we answer in the following post. We also explain the latest EU guideline for vacuum cleaners.

Underground vacuum cleaner or cordless vacuum cleaner

When choosing the perfect vacuum cleaner you should first know the different types of vacuum cleaners and find out which one is most suitable for your needs. If you only need the vacuum cleaner for smaller areas, a compact hand vacuum cleaner should be enough. However, they have lower performance and significantly lower capacity than other models, so you cannot avoid frequent emptying of the container.

Therefore, it should be for larger areas but then a standard vacuum cleaner. Here you have the choice between a classic vacuum cleaner with power plug or those that run with the help of a battery. Again, the area you want to clean plays a role. The cable length of vacuum cleaners is quite different. It can range from a minimum of three to a maximum of 15 meters. The cost factor plays an important role in terms of the length of the cable because the longer it is, the more you have to pay for your vacuum cleaner. With the battery sucker, however, you can comfortably cover an arbitrarily large area. However, these can only be used as long as the battery lasts.

Vacuum cleaner with or without bag

Once you have decided on a vacuum cleaner, the question arises whether it should be a version with or without a dust bag. While the bag less models was still relatively popular at the beginning of the millennium, more and more people today are using the well-tried method of pouches.

Several criteria play a role in the decision:

Cost Factor:

At first glance, vacuum cleaners with bags are the cheaper option especially when purchasing. Here you will get models already between 50 and 100 euros. In the long run, however, the variant without bag has its advantages. Although they usually cost twice as much to purchase, this does not include the cost of purchasing vacuum cleaner bags. So you will not notice a difference in price over a certain period of time, seen over several years, the vacuum cleaner bag without cheaper.

Allergic:

If you have allergies in the house, that is also a crucial factor in the selection of your vacuum cleaner. Experts advise in this case to solve with bag, since the dust bag is disposed of in a sealed manner. In the case of suckers without a bag, the dust is emptied into the dustbin and a cloud of dust cannot be avoided despite all efforts. For allergy sufferers, therefore, the solution with bag is the more pleasant.

Frequency of Use

Also, the factors of frequency of use and area size of the apartment play a role in the selection of the vacuum cleaner. For large areas and frequent repetition is more profitable a vacuum cleaner without a bag. Because from an economic point of view, you can save a lot of bag costs in this case. However, if you only vacuum once or twice a week on a small area, a classic vacuum cleaner with a bag can also pay off for you, as only every four to six weeks a bag exchange is pending.

Volume

Often the noise of a vacuum cleaner disturbs not only you, but also your closer environment. Clearly, the models with pouches have their advantages here. On the one hand, they are quieter from the bottom up, but on the other hand they can also be regulated in their suction power, which reduces noise. This is often not possible with cheap bagless models.

Wet-Dry Vacuum Cleaner

The so-called wet-dry vacuums are becoming increasingly popular. These combine the capabilities of dry and wet vacuum cleaners in one device. The advantage here is that they can be used in addition to the usual vacuuming of dust, dirt and crumbs for the removal of liquids.

Note: Although wet-dry vacuums absorb the liquids, they do not clean the floor. So if you spill something sticky, you must then additionally clean the floor.

Wet-dry vacuum cleaners are also ideal for cleaning upholstery. Here, the sucker first distributes water and detergent on the pad, rather he absorbs the dissolved dirt effectively.

Especially for allergy sufferers this form of vacuuming is practical. Thanks to the special suction system even the smallest particles are bound by the water. Unlike dry vacuum cleaners, which return the smallest particles to the outside by excreting the sucked-in air, the particles remain in the wet and dry vacuum cleaner. Thus, a significant increase in the cleaning of the room air takes place.

Regular Cleaning of the Vacuum Cleaner

Especially with vacuum cleaners without bags, regular cleaning plays a major role, since the suction power suffers greatly from contamination of the individual components. By the time you realize that your vacuum cleaner is simply pushing the dust back and forth instead of picking it up, it’s time to thoroughly clean the unit. But do not forget the intake manifold next to the container and the various filters. Again, this can be clogged by large lumps of dust. For example, use a long, thin rod to do this.

Tip: A simple emptying of the individual components is usually not enough. Rinse thoroughly with water. But beware: Before you start the next suction, everything must be completely dried.

Before buying a vacuum cleaner, be very clear about which area of

application you need the device for and check all other important factors because the selection of a vacuum cleaner wants to be well thought out.
