Five people in California have taken legal action against Facebook for breaching the state’s privacy laws, news.com reports.
According to the wire, the class action filed in the Orange County Superior Court include two children younger than 13, a photographer, and an actress.
The nub of the case is that Facebook has breached the California privacy laws by spreading information to others in order to make money. The suit also alleges the company harvests data on its members without making it absolutely clear it indulges in such activities.
Hundreds of millions of individuals use Facebook and the company has said it will ballot its members on proposed changes it will make to privacy settings.
