Japan certainly has other things on its mind right now, and so as not to trivialize the recent natural disaster there, Apple has decided to push back the release of the iPad 2 in that country.
The tablet had been expected to go on sale in Japan on March 25. That date has been removed with no official new date yet to announce.
“Our hearts go out to the people of Japan, including our employees and their families who have been impacted by this terrible tragedy,” said Apple spokesperson Natalie Kerris in a statement.
The company further noted that all Apple employees in Japan were accounted for and are safe.
Over here in the US, the iPad 2 has been a runaway success, selling more than a million units during its first few days on the market in the United States.
