Finally, the SXSW 2011 artist lineup has been announced for the huge music festival held in Austin, TX every spring. This year is particularly special because it marks the 25th anniversary of SXSW Music, even more of a reason to come out and celebrate. New music announcements this week include deadmau5 and G Love. The new electronic music sensation, deadmau5, will be releasing his album, 4×4=12, December 5th. Lots of new details about the album have just been released, including album art and track listing. Also, G Love has announced the release of his next album, Fixin’ to Die, out February 22. G Love and the Avett Brothers teamed up for this one – the Avett Brothers both produced and performed on the record.
Both Lindstrom and Social Distortion announced tour dates this week. Lindstrom, a Norwegian group who rarely comes to the states, has announced three special shows in New York, San Francisco, and Chicago. Also, Social Distortion has announced a West Coast tour beginning early next year to support the release of their new album, Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes.
SXSW 2011 Artists Announced: Taking place March 16-20 and featuring over 1900 acts on stages, the lineup for SXSW 2011 has been announced. This year marks the 25th anniversary of SXSW Music, making it even more of a reason to celebrate.
