- Apple Inc CEO Tim Cook will visit India this week and meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, two sources familiar with the matter said. The sources declined to be named due to the plan not being publicly available yet. Apple too, has declined to provide any details of Cook’s India itinerary.
- Apple seeks new growth markets such as India after experiencing its first-ever decline in iPhone sales. Cook is currently visiting China. He announced a $1 billion investment in Chinese ride-hailing app Didi Chuxing. He will fly to India on Tuesday as part of his first official visit to the country.
- Apple is looking to set up its first retail outlet in India. It currently has only about 2 percent market share. The sales however, surged 56 percent in the first three months of 2016, which was driven by the sales of the iPhone 5S.
