DC has released a preview of the inside pages of its upcoming alternate future superhero comic Superman Beyond.
Superman Beyond is the latest title in the Beyond franchise, predecessed by Batman Beyond and Justice League Beyond. As a franchise, the Beyond series takes a look at the near future versions of our favorite DC superheroes, placing them approximately 60 years in the future.

The Man of Tomorrow returns home to an unfamiliar City of Tomorrow patrolled by super-powered police officers. With almost all of his friends and loved ones gone, he wonders if Superman has a place in this new world. But time and death hold no meaning for his greatest enemy who has set a plan in motion to destroy the Man of Steel once and for all.
The Beyond lines are being used as a sort of marketing experiment for DC. Readers have been saying for years that they would like to see some inexpensive digital comics lines, books that could be made, and thus delivered, much more cheaply because they’re not being made available in print on day one – they may be released in print later, likely in collections rather than issues.
All of the Beyond titles are available at 99 cents per issue, roughly a quarter of the price of an average print comics issue, but the quality is on par, and the talent creating the comics are no slouches. Superman Beyond, for example, is written by J.T. Krul with art by Howard Porter and Livesay. Personally, I believe this is an experiment comics fans should support, if only to show DC this is a model that can and will work.
