Every Android gamer has probably wished at least once that their mobile device boasted handheld console-style controls – instead of just a touch-screen.
True, you could purchase a separate Bluetooth controller to take with you for gaming on the go, but that would be somewhat of a pain. Really, it would be much easier if your tablet simply featured integrated gamepad controls.
Enter JXD, a Chinese company that is now taking pre-orders for its S7300 Android gaming tablet. The device – which features a seven-inch screen – is equipped with an analog joystick and D-pad on the left, along with four buttons and a second analog joystick on the right.
The price tag is also pretty sweet, weighing in at $150. Of course, for that amount you’re not going to get a tablet with record-breaking performance, but the specs are fairly respectable, and include a 1.5 GHz Amlogic dual core processor paired with ARM Mali 400 graphics.
Additional specs? 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of storage and a microSD card slot. The tablet operating system is Android 4.1, while the seven-inch screen offers a resolution of 1024 x 600 and supports five points of touch.
Android fans who like to tweak their hardware will undoubtedly appreciate that the device arrives pre-rooted with SuperUser access – right from the factory.
