LG is apparently ready to step into the market of super-powered smartphone as it plans to launch a phone with a Tegra 3 chip.
The quad-core processor will offer immense processing power while also implementing technology to prevent excess strain on battery life. Modaco.com reports it will have a 2000 mAh battery.
The LG device will reportedly be called the X3, and uses the internal product number P880. While nothing from the manufacturer has been officially announced, it’s believed to have a 4.7-inch HD display and the latest version of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
In addition, it will have an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, with 16 GB of internal storage and a microSD slot for extra space.
Based on screenshots obtained by Modaco, the LG X3 is clocking in with benchmark numbers far beyond those of the Galaxy Tab tablet and around twice the numbers of the already impressive Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
In other words, all that power under the hood actually means something. It’s expected that the X3 will make its official debut at the Mobile World Congress, which is to be held at the end of this month in Barcelona, Spain.
Also set to be unveiled at the mobile trad show is an HTC phone, currently known as the Endeavor, also powered by a Tegra 3 chip. Will there perhaps be even more devices carrying this impressive new generation of technology? We can only hope so.
