FDA won’t allow complaints from medical scientists

Nine current and former scientists from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) medical device unit have filed complaints against the government agency related to the safety of medical devices. And for the second time these complaints have been thrown out by federal officials.

The scientists say they dealt with harassment and intimidation because they had concerns over FDA-approved medical devices. According to a Natural News story the scientists’ complaints were thrown out without any kind of investigation.

According to several reports, the FDA scientists went public with their concerns about the safety of new medical imaging devices that give a heavy load of dangerous radiation to patients.

They were very concerned with new computed tomography (CT) scanning machines that are being used on healthy individuals to screen for prostate cancer. The scientists say these new machines expose individuals to unnecessarily high levels of radiation.

These same devices are said to be the cause of hundreds of radiation overdoses from this past year.

The scientists have said that their FDA overlords coerced them into approving devices even though there were health concerns. The scientists were even threatened with retaliation if they failed to obey.

These same managers (thugs) even neutralized the scientists’ decisions, but they did so without documentation of a valid reason to do so, and a documented reason for overriding the scientists’ decisions is required by law. A recent Associated Press release said that one of the three “whistleblowers” had their employment terminated for bringing their concerns to Congress.

The biggest slap in the face is the fact that the office of inspector general at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) didn’t even do a legitimate investigation into the claims before they were tossed out.

According to Natural News, Dr. Julian Nicholas, an Oxford-trained intestinal specialist that had his contract at the FDA canceled for filing a complaint, the office interviewed none of the scientists with claims to hear their side of the story.

Here’s what Nicholas said to the AP: “It’s hard for me to believe this was a bona fide investigation when they haven’t even contacted the people who reported these violations,” Nicholas stated. “Such a huge amount of money is at stake and so many people are affected, that for the (office of inspector general) not to conduct a credible investigation is criminal in itself.”

And while all of this corruption is taking place the FDA sits there telling us that the new imaging machines are safe when used properly. What balls they have!

This is a good example of how corruption and cronyism run government agencies. The FDA is supposed to pay attention to the science and medical concerns of their experts.

And when they don’t like what scientists have to say, they threaten them and attempt to ruin their careers. The real question I have is what corporation is pulling the strings behind the scenes?

What big business interest is dictating the FDA’s behavior? When are people going to wake up to the fact that these governmental protection agencies don’t protect anything or anybody?

This is your tax dollars at work. Are you happy with that?
