INDIGNANT RAGE: The day after the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday is supposed to be a watershed of holiday shopping bacchanalia. It’s called Black Friday and we’re going to hear an awful lot about it for the next week or so. Black Friday during the Great Recession.
The retailers are all lined up, and they’re sounding nervous and all anticipating what might or might not happen. So, we’re in the middle of the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression and a bunch of retailers are all that stands between us and the abyss.
The potential customers are, well, who knows what they’re doing.Yeah, what I’d like to know is who the heck has shopping on their mind when all this doom stuff is going on?
Another thing I’d like to know is what are damned retailers doing to make any of our lives easier now? I mean, credit card companies have decided that usury is not a sin. That’s a plan at least. But, what about our friends in the stores. Are they really cutting great deals? Are they really doing anyone a favor?
So, I’d like to hear from you. Tell me what you are doing, and how you feel about it all. I am sick and tired of reading this superficial nonsense about bargains and shopping on Black Friday. There are real people suffering, and all you get is a bunch of lame ass articles about getting a deal on a television.
We all know someone who has lost a job. We all know this is going to be a hard Christmas for most everyone except a very select group of people.
But, I’d like to hear from you, and find out how you feel about this thing. Am I overreacting? Let me know. Are you feeling the pinch? Let me know. Are you going to be buying a new yacht and buying caviar this weekend? Let me know, too, you smug bastard.
