Facebook refines privacy settings

Facebook has updated its privacy settings with several new features designed to provide users with “greater control” over shared information.

“The [features] include a simpler privacy settings page and a tool to control the audience for each and every post [members] create,” Facebook spokesperson Ruchi Sanghvi wrote in an official blog post. ??”We’re also taking this opportunity to require all 350 million people who use Facebook to review and update their settings.”

??Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg explained that the social network had worked hard to build controls that “would be better” for users.
Nevertheless, he acknowledged that each user would undoubtedly choose to customize the default settings based on their unique requirements and preferences. ?

“We’ll suggest settings for you based on your current level of privacy, but the best way for you to find the right settings is to read through all your options and customize them for yourself. I encourage you to do this and consider who you’re sharing with online,” added Zuckerberg.

?The new privacy options have met with approval from thousands of Facebook users, with 2,316 members “liking” the update as of 10:14AM PST.??
