Mitsubishi preps range of electric cars

Japanese giant Mitsubishi will launch a lithium ion electric car in July, but promises that’s only the start.

According to, the i-MiEV will be the spearhead of a whole range of electric cars and has five other models prepared to go.

Next year Mitsubishi will release a left hand version of the i-MiEV into the European market and, according to the same report, will release a van.

In addition, it has a struck a deal next year to supply an electric car to the French Peugeot Citroen group.

It even has plans for a sports car called the i-MiEV Sport, according to nikkei, here (subscription required). Mitsubishi describes the features of the iMiEV here.
