Video: Kinect lightsaber hack

This sweet lightsaber hack was coded using the power of the Force, OpenKinect drivers and OpenCV.

“Imagine the possibilities. Best viewed in fullscreen 480p. I track a wooden stick and I overlay the light glow on the computer,” Yankeyan explained  in an official description posted on YouTube.

“Drivers using OpenKinect, image processing, tracking, and rendering using OpenCV. Audio recorded and processed using Audacity and played using libao.”

Yeah, sure, there appears to be something of a lag, but remember: the Force is what gives a Jedi his power.

It’s an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It even binds the galaxy together.

So, do or do not – because there is no try!
