TripIt for iPhone beats recessionary blues

SanFrancisco –  TripIt for iPhone has arrived to the delight of fans of the application, of which there are many. Granted, the fans of TripIt are people who can still afford to travel and are not subject to deportation, hitchhiking for sex, or stowing away in boxcars. However, if you are clever and resourceful, you can use TripIt to feel like you are going to some place great and that you are going to have a great time. Everyone is a winner in Great Depression 2.0.

TripIt has found a fan base by simply forwarding their travel confirmation emails to plans@tripit.com no matter where they book. It then creates a master itinerary that combines all their travel plans plus weather, maps, restaurants and more.

“An iPhone app has been one of the top requests from TripIt travelers,” commented Gregg Brockway, co-founder and president, TripIt. For those of you who are immune to the pressures of society and don’t own an iPhone, TripIt supports other mobile devices with a mobile site at m.tripit.com. It’s just as good.

The TripIt iPhone app is free for now from the Apple App Store and it has some limitations: you can’t share itineraries with your network, for example. However, you can use it offline, or Airplane Mode as they call it in iPhone speak, to check your itineraries and, as we said, it is free.
