Snow Leopard pounces on Macs this Friday

Cupertino-based Apple confirmed that it will ship Mac OS X Leopard (OS X 10.6) this coming Friday and claims that for $29 the upgrade will make everything in your life just that bit better.

In a notice on its web site, Apple says you can pre-order it now and it will ship it free to you if you do that.

The upgrade will also be available in Apple stores this Friday, and it will come with the Mac Box Set.

While the OS will still boot using the 32-bit kernel, Apple says it is now a fully blown 64-bit operating system although you can force it into 64-bit mode with 64-bit drivers.

The OS will also now give built-in support for Microsoft Exchange Server, if that’s important for you.
