The Mozilla Foundation has issued a call to arms to its developers to create a “mini Web server” that will filter out the desperate tropical storm of messages that we’re all deluged with these days.
The Raindrop project aims to create a filter that will let you see the different streams and screams of consciousness deluging you from such diverse sources as Twitter, Facebook, Flikr, RSS and the rest.
According to the Raindrop site, it aims to make life enjoyable and will use a sort of miniweb server to pull out the most important bits to you and show them in your favorite web browser.
It’s asking developers to create software that will allow a message client to organize the torrents of information that fly at internet users from every direction.
The Raindrop page is here.
