Microsoft crashes Windows 7 launch parties

San Francisco (CA) – Microsoft has asked its adoring masses in the United States to host a week of Windows 7 launch parties. The Redmond-based behemoth also promised to send party hosts a “special” signature edition of Windows 7 Ultimate.

“Apply online to host a Launch Party. Choose a day from October 22-29 and if you’re selected, you’ll not only receive a special signature edition of Windows 7 Ultimate but your very own Windows 7 Party Pack,” explained Microsoft. “You’ll be assisted by House Party, the world’s leading party organizer. Pick a theme, then upload photos and videos, chat with other hosts, blog your experience and download fun favors all from your personal House Party page.”

Hosts – who also have a “good chance” of winning a $750 PC – can select the following Microsoft-oriented themes:

  • PhotoPalooza
  • Media Mania
  • Setting up with Ease
  • Family Friendly Fun

So, is anyone interested in hosting a Microsoft kegger? If so, please be sure to bring your own plastic cups, Xbox 360 and Bill Gates poster. Apple devices – and their owners – will not be tolerated unless they promise to be on their best behavior.

Oh, and Linux fanbois need not apply. Of course, Linux fangirlz will be considered.
