Facebook app asks that you give up your status to honor a fallen soldier this Memorial Day.
Memorial Day traces its roots back to Decoration Day in 1868, a commemoration of the fallen Union soldiers in the Civil War. Eventually, the day would come to be known as Memorial Day and honor the fallen in the many wars that have been fought and continue to be fought.
On this day, there are undoubtedly many things that you can do. Someone sent us a link to this Memorial Day app on Facebook. You decide what works for you, but we thought it isn’t that much of a sacrifice to give up your Facebook status today at 3 pm. The app comes from The White House Commission on Remembrance.
