Facebook announces privacy changes

The founder of Facebook has written an open letter to Facebook users and said the social networking site will change the way privacy works with the software.

Mark Zuckenberg said that Facebook will give people the ability to control who sees each individual piece of content created or uploaded.

Facebook is also combining some privacy settings to simplify the process.

He said: “In the next couple of weeks we’ll ask you to review and update your privacy settings. You’ll see a message that will explain the changes and and take you to a page where you can update your settings. When you’re finished, we’ll show you a confirmation page so you can make sure you chose the right settings for you.”

Zuckenberg said that while Facebook will suggest settings based on an individual’s use, the best way for people to find the right settings is to customize them.
