Research in Motion (RIM) has unveiled its long-awaited BlackBerry 6 operating system at WES 2010.
The latest iteration of the popular mobile OS boasts a new WebKit-based multitouch browser – which is the same engine used to power the browsers on Android devices and Apple’s iPhone.
Additional features include pinch-to-zoom browsing, support for tabs, a new music player, upgraded photo viewer and a revamped, customizable homescreen.
Finally, BlackBerry 6 offers a social network application that combines status updates from both Facebook and Twitter, as well as an integrated chat interface which allows users to message friends on Google Talk, BB Messenger and AIM.
