Palm WebOS gets "3D" update

HP’s Palm has released an update to the WebOS operating system that enables “3D” gaming on the Pre and Pixi line of smartphones.

What is 3D mobile gaming, you ask? Good question. Well, don’t worry; you don’t have to break out the 3D glasses. Instead, it is really just a graphical enhancement that makes games a bit more realistic and adds a sense of depth.

The update brings WebOS to version 1.4.5. It also adds some functional enhancements and fixes a minor download problem.

Palm originally announced 3D gaming at CES in January. Among the titles launched for the new platform are Need for Speed Undercover, The Sims 3, and Let’s Golf.
