Microsoft touts iOS-friendly OneNote

Microsoft has debuted an iOS-friendly version of OneNote for Apple’s iPhone and iPad.

The app – which is free for a limited time – can best be described as a digital notebook that allows users to store and access relevant data in a single Cloud-based location, making it accessible from PCs, phones and tablets.

“Collecting thoughts and ideas on the go is what OneNote was made for. Think of it as a digital file cabinet for all the random bits of information that are too hard to keep track of in your head,” Microsoft VP Takeshi Numoto explained in an official blog post.

“For me, OneNote is where I collect and organize notes, ideas, links to websites and pictures. It can also capture handwriting, audio recordings and video clips. From my PC, the easy-to-search format means any of these tidbits of information are always at hand.”

According to Numoto, OneNote for iOS marks another important step in Office evolving to meet the needs of next-gen users.

“Whether it’s on a PC or Mac, a mobile phone, or online through the Office Web Apps on multiple browsers, we continue to bring Office to the devices, platforms, and operating systems our customers are using.

It should be about the ideas and information, not the device, right?”
